#bookreview … The Selection by Kiera Cass

The Selection (The Selection, #1)The Selection by Kiera Cass

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can I start my review with the Acknowledgements? Of course I can, I don’t even follow the rules for book reviews 🙂 . The Acknowledgements…ohhh…what a nice way to finish a book. The way the author gives her thanks to everyone and she makes it lovely and fun and funny, it simply makes me love the author even though I don’t know her. 🙂

This book is a great read. I started to read it Friday afternoon and the only reason why I finished just now, now is because today I had some stuff to do around the house. Otherwise, this book can be easily be read in two days maximum. The 327 pages seemed like nothing and it is just because of the amazing story that it just made me want to know what is happening next therefore I was not able to stop.

America and Aspen have a cute first love story however it is only once she accepts to be part of The Selection that she realizes Prince Maxon can make her fall in love again and this time for a lifetime. America stays true to herself and she doesn’t bother to change to fit in the palace. Instead, because she is herself, she makes the people around her love her and appreciate her for what she really is.

I can’t wait to start the next book, The Elite, therefore I must end my review now. I must say that this book deserves the 5 stars and more. I really enjoyed every single page of it!

Thanks for reading darlings! Have a great night!

#bookreview … The Elite by Kiera Cass

The Elite (The Selection, #2)The Elite by Kiera Cass

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For the second book review, The Elite by Kiera Cass, I must also start with the Acknowledgements. There is something in the way the author addresses to all her readers that melts my heart. I feel so close to the writer just by the way she ‘speaks’ with me.

The Elite is the second book in The Selection series. The story continues with America trying to decide if she wants to be a princess or not, if she can handle the pressure but most importantly she is trying to decide who is most important in her heart: Maxon or Aspen.

I must say that at times I believe she is selfish. She is expecting Aspen to be there for her no matter what and she is assuming that he will always be there for her. He is! But for how much longer?! I guess we will see. Even though she is selfish, I do understand her. Lets say that it is not easy to have your head and heart in multiple places at the same time.

America passes through different challenges and even though she always gets herself in trouble, she is going forward in the competition. I suppose that Maxon does love her in the end. ☺️

I can’t wait to see what the next book, The One, will bring.

Thanks for reading lovelies!

Have a great night!

#bookreview … The One by Kiera Cass

The One (The Selection, #3)The One by Kiera Cass

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Happily ever after ending? ☺️ Maybe! I won’t spoil it for you. However prepare to be surprised.

There were parts in this book that made me go: ohhhh nooooo! And others that made me think: I’m so happy this happened. This book had everything that a girl needs. A beautiful princess story with a girl that is more than just a princess. America is strong and even though she makes some mistakes she manages to get back on track. She shows Maxon how much she loves him even when he is not that gentle with her. At times I hated him but I could understand some of the things he’s done and said.

This books series were really what I needed at this moment. A beautiful love story! Definitely 5 stars books!

#bookreview … So We Said Goodbye by Rama Marinov Cohen

So We Said Goodbye: A Contemporary Fiction NovelSo We Said Goodbye: A Contemporary Fiction Novel by Rama Marinov Cohen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this book on my Kindle. I started to read it when I was questioning some things in my life and I didn’t know what the book was about but the title made me imagine…and I was so right. This book made me realize so many things and at the end of it I feel like I…matured a bit more! I understand so much better some things now, I feel like after so many years, I was finally able to move on with my life.

Aya and Uri, Yaron and Hagar. Two couples, so different and yet connected. The story basically starts because Aya, even though she lives a fulfilling life, was not able to forget her first love. She decides to contact Yaron and from that point on she is obsessing over him. Her husband, Uri, is so understanding just because he loves her so much and he is trying to show her support and to help her move on from her past. What she doesn’t know is that her actions harm so much Yaron’s wife, Hagar, which can’t help but compare herself to Aya.

The writing looks like journal entries and each character gets a chance to explain their part in the story. At times is hard to follow, I find that when Aya is sharing her side, she is somehow delusional and thinks that they could probably live together…all four of them…happily ever after.

The book ending is strange. Yeah…I don’t know what to say because I didn’t really understand where is everybody standing by the end. It could be that they were finally friends (all four) or that Aya was simply not able to move on from Yaron and she will always think about him even though she is married with Uri. I don’t know! ☺️ I have no idea and it is frustrating a bit, because I was looking forward to have an answer, to finally know what happens with these two couples.

This book made me realize something though. No matter what you felt in your past, no matter how strong your love for someone else was in the past, one thing is for sure: You must STOP living in the past and forget all your past loves! If it didn’t work then, it would never work now! ☺️ So, once I finished this book, I closed my Kindle and I took a few minutes to say goodbye to my past life!

#bookreview … Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Me Before You (Me Before You, #1)Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every time I was reading about this book, readers were warning me or others to prepare a box of tissues as some crying might get involved. I was almost at the end of the book while waiting to see my doctor, but I remembered about a warning that I got, not to finish the book in a public space as my mascara might suffer. I closed the book and I impatiently waited to get home and finish the book…I didn’t cry…But, I was affected by it in a special way.

#bookreview…Marley and Me – by John Grogan

Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst DogMarley and Me: Life and Love With the World’s Worst Dog by John Grogan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I bought this book, in French, at a garage sell and I was super excited to read it. The book is so well written that from the beginning I could imagine that I was there with them, living all the excitement that one feels when a puppy is brought to the family. Soon I was laughing with tears at all the craziness that Marley was creating around him. I couldn’t help but question myself if I would be able to keep such a ‘troubled dog’. I was reminded over and over again, by Marley’s sweet behavior that no matter how the dog acts, once you decide to adopt you cannot change your mind. A dog should stay with its owner for life, as once he came into the master’s home, he is now part of the family. I fell in love with Marley. He was crazy, and he was chewing everything that crossed his path, he was not listening at all but he was always loving and caring when the time would ask for it. As the writer said at one point, Marley basically shows us that a simple life is a happy life.

Just another day…

Pain…

Burning…

Heart racing…

Head spinning…

Hard to breathe…

Not easy to understand when it’s not you that goes through it.

Keep you face straight. Bite your tongue to keep from crying. They don’t have to see they get to you. Try to fit with other people. No other option.
