When you get tired with the exterior world you must take a step back and breath. What if this tiredness is never going away? In a world in which we need to work every day of the week how often can we actually take a day off?
Some companies give away a number of sick days. You can take advantage of those to recharge your batteries if you are lucky enough and don’t get sick very often. But what if you don’t have these sick days? I know that after a while you feel guilty to say that you can’t go in to work because you don’t feel good. But emotional issues are as important as physical ones right? I am not an employer but if I would be one I would probably give some days off for recharging batteries. Besides the annual vacation. These days will be not paid but if you need a day off because you don’t feel emotionally motivated than you should have the choice to do so.
What happens with this world that all we do is work, work, work…most of the time we work jobs that we barely like…but we must do the work. We have no choice cause I mean who is going to pay for us if we don’t? When you take one of these days off you realize that you are obliged to work otherwise you can’t live. You wonder how do people simply quit their jobs and follow a passion that they have? How do these people live? With what incomes?
Lately I find myself thinking more and more about jobs that would make me feel fulfilled. I am thinking that what bothers me is not the fact that I have to solve people’s issues but what bothers me is the issues that I have to solve. All the problems that these people have are so insignificant. I would love to help people but with real problems, help them change their lifestyle and do better in life and make a difference. I don’t feel that resolving a defective product issue is making a difference in the world. This is so superficial.
How do people find their true calling? How do people find their true value? How do people find the perfect job for them?
If I ever find the answers I promise I’ll share it with the world. It is not easy to know all these things and take the correct path…
Are you happy with your current professional path? Please share…
