I just finished this book and like most Nicholas Sparks’s books it left me with a broken heart. I normally wait at least a day before writing a review, as I need my thoughts to clear after finishing a book, but this time I feel that if I wait I might actually not feel what I do right now. My review does not contain spoilers but I do give out some details, so if you want to stop now…you should!
Theresa and Garrett represent normal people, with normal realities, until their paths cross. Theresa had somehow showed me what I already knew: sometimes you have to push faith just a little bit in order to reach full happiness…and true love…
Theresa is divorced and she lives with her teenager son, working hard to give him a good life. While she is 100% dedicated as a mother, she is also fighting for her career, living her little time for her love life. She is disappointed over and over by men that want the same things and that retract when they find out that she is a mother. All has changed when she found Garrett’s letter in the bottle for his former wife.
Garrett is living a simple life in a small town with no interest in the outside world. His heart was broken forever when he lost his wife and he doesn’t think that love could ever touch his heart again. But life shows him that you should never say never and even though he struggles with his guilt feelings he manages to allow Theresa in his heart.
When everything starts to feel like a happy ending, Nicholas Sparks decides that everything must change drastically. The author has broken my heart and I could not contain my tears. This is such an emotional story and I loved every single page of it!
I highly recommend this book!
