I normally don’t read reviews of books on Goodreads (1. I don’t really care about other people’s opinion when choosing my reads and 2. I feel like I am wasting my time.). But for some reason I decided to go ahead and read some and I was shocked. It’s ok that a book is not everyone’s favorite, it’s ok for a book to have bad comments and even 1 star from many readers. What I think is not ok, it’s when readers don’t attack just the book itself, but the authors (in such a hateful way) and the readers that do enjoy the book. So yes, I was shocked when a reader made comments about how the authors are stupid, or the way they should be killed and about how stupid the readers that enjoyed the book must be. I just don’t get it! Why do you have to be so hateful? You don’t like it, give the book to a charity or a library, leave 1 star and say that the book is just not for you and move on. But from there to actually put all this hate towards the authors and the readers that enjoyed it, I think it’s just too much and sites like Goodreads should not allow this to happen. But well, social media gets to me lately, so I believe that the solution lays in me taking a break from it. With that being said, here is my review for this book which I absolutely loved a few years ago and again today. 🙂
After reading some of the negative reviews I must edit my review with this note: I don’t care if you didn’t like the book (for whatever reason) so stop yourself from bad commenting my review! Thanks!
I read this book a few years back and it became my favorite series of all times. I decided to re-read it because I heard that a TV series is coming so I just wanted to remember the details before watching it. I was a bit afraid that I might not like it just as much as the first time but I was not disappointed.
The way Zoey deals with everything that is happening to her is just refreshing. I’m actually finding myself in her so much that at times I feel like I’m reading about myself.
The story is really catchy and even though it’s just another vampire story I feel that it is different from everything else that I read with vampires. Some people comment and get offended by the way Zoey thinks and talks, I find she is very funny and like any teenager she is just confused and trying to make the best out of what is happening to her. Her friends are supportive and really nice, and again like the teenagers they are, they can be goofy.
I loved this first book.
Thanks for reading!
