I loved this book so much. I don’t know if it was the fact that I actually got to listen to Kristina’s voice and I felt that she was speaking directly to me, but this book brought me a lot of joy.

Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, & Advice for Living Your Best Life by Ali Wong (kindle edition)
Plot: Ali Wong’s heartfelt and hilarious letters to her daughters (the two she put to work while they were still in utero), covering everything they need to know in life, like the unpleasant details of dating, how to be a working mom in a male-dominated profession, and how she trapped their dad.
In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so heavily that she became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads. If you are shocked easily and offended fast, don’t read this book! It just might not be your cup of tea.
With that being said, I kinda liked it. I’m still wondering if everything that she says on the stage or that she wrote in the book is actually true or she is just trying to shock the world. If it is true, wow…just wow on her courage to share with the entire world the crazy things that she did almost all her life. I mean, not many of us want the world to know the embarrassing and disgusting things that we did as teenagers or worse…adults :)) .

This is one of those books that I love and hate at the same time. That is why I wondered so much how many stars should I give. And I feel confused because I am not sure what to write in this review. I suppose that you must read the book to understand what I am saying.
Hannah is a survivor, and even though she passed through many abusive situations I kinda have a hard time understanding some of her decisions. The story happens in 1717, and I suppose that in those times women did not have much saying in what men could do or not do to them. My problem with the story itself, it’s that she actually fell in love with one of her abusers.
I tried…but I have nothing more. :-s
